The Architect Of Your Own Fate Poem by Felix Luck

The Architect Of Your Own Fate

I wish I could just tell you
Or show you how blind I was to have just given you up!
I was young and na? ve,
so easy to deceive
I realised my mistakes far to late
And you didn't wait for me to see...

You cut your losses and moved on
To someone who could make you smile for more than just a while.

But a few months down the line
no longer does He make you smile as He once did
You frown more than you laugh...

You still care for Him though
But how does He feel? He can't accept your mistakes.
All He wants is for you to be His image of perfection,
a fake
He clearly doesn't see what I only see now...

Wow if only I wasn't so narrow minded, maybe you would have still been mine
Oh how I would have made you smile....

But I still could
If only you forsake this blind man
While you still can
We'll sneak out while they sleep and sail off into the night
We could come clean and start over our lives
And when we're gone we'll stay gone out of site out of mind
And if you waited you would find
This is a life that you could smile in...

But I know you would never do that
Blindness is infectious,
You don't see me the way I see you
you don't care as I care
You only see Him

Blind to His flaws and hurting imperfection turning aside His snide remarks lying to yourself like a broken mirror seeing only half truths.

If only you still believed in all the things you stood by before...

Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate?
or would you rather be the architect for what we might create?

I could help you see the blueprint to a happier life if only you opened your eyes long enough to see the paths laid out before you...

But I know you to well, you won't leave Him
you are content to hide and live off your life with semi-comfortable truths
and trading smiles
for His lies...

Just remember that you were mine once upon a time
And I will be here on the sidelines to help you find the right path
To help you
Aboard,
To set sail into the night...
To see the morning
light...
After a while, you will see that its worthwhile
To realise the time is right
To remember what its like too smile....
