The Battle Fought Within Poem by Mark Nyamekye Boadi

The Battle Fought Within

There is an ongoing war
It has been going on for ages
As I write this
The battle still rages

A bloodless but fierce battle
Fought by two identical twins
One question I ask is:
Who wins?

It is a silent war
Myself rose against Me
Over the control of creation
The end we wish to see

Myself seeks dominion
Me would not allow
Forces called to battle
No side wants to take a bow

Instability is what happens
When weapons become the decree
An end we wish to see

The eyes of both forces are reddened
Like the leaves of a flame tree
An end we wish to see

Myself against Me
No one wants to bend the knee
An end we wish to see

The battle rages
No side wants to cease
No call for peace
An end we wish to see
