The Battlefield Poem by Michael Koelliker

The Battlefield

Rating: 3.5

Somewhere on the battlefield, a man is sent from home.

Somewhere on the battlefield, a man is at war,

With decisions, complicated and hard.

Somewhere on the battlefield, a man stands at post.

Fearful, but strong, he strikes the enemy one by one.

Somewhere on the battlefield, an opposing fortress,

Feeble and unreliant is destroyed.

Somewhere on the battlefield, a Hero is born.

Somewhere on the battlefield, our Hero wins the war.

Somewhere on the battlefield, the war and men are revered.

Somewhere at home, a family rejoices for life and freedom.
