The Beat Generation

Only when
-Sun became of deserts',

Only when
-the flames spread,

Only when
-devil was visible with a hell,

Only when
-soared war in Vietnam,

Only when…
Only when…
Only when…

Only when
-the war in Vietnam
-sent wounded
-bags, boxes
-and wives of veterans
-found lovers
-to replace the husbands
-in their lives and in beds,

Only when the wise felt
-deserts of Sahara
-and Kerman to Semnan
-and the heat of Ahvaz,
-as well as Baluchistan,

Only when
-came Hare-Krishna
-Lennon sang:
- "Imagine! " and "Karma"
- (We…Shine On)

Only then
-US was divided
-to Elvis and Beatles
-some cried for King's hair
-some shouted slogans
-many went for hitchhike
-life became Hippy-like.

Nostalgia for love, peace
Shook throne of Devil
McCarthy was revealed
Fell crown of evil
"The Beat" was recognised.

Only then…
Only then…
Only then…

The truth came to sight
Kennedy terrorised
Filthy was Mise-en-scene
Marched ones like McCarthy
The kids were trained the:
"Don't trust, be mindful! "

"The Beats" went other way
They removed blanket:
"Life should be simpler! "
"All people are the same! "
"They are all precious! "
"Avoid war and make love! "

We need a New World,
We need peace and need love,
We must be dynasty and era
To set up new "Beat":

Peace and love…
Peace and love…
Peace and love…

We have heard and have seen
We must fight McCarthy
We must fight John Bolton
We must kill the evil.

Must unite and rebuild: "No devil! "

Great poem, Nassy! Really enjoyed it! However, at times, the distinction between the beats and the hippies is not clear. That distinction is crucial! Jack Kerouac made that very clear!
