The Beckoning Silence Poem by Chris Mackie

The Beckoning Silence

With heavy heart
I stand here
overlooking the sea...
I long to see your face
Just one more time
Feel you against me
Feel your touch
Briefly I smile...
But I know that will never be
You left me and...
I can't get you back

The silence beckons me...
The weight of my heart
Pulling me over...
To the point of no return
Tears roll...
As I fall into the void
Falling away...
Into the abyss
Forever lost in time…
Falling...
Like tears in the rain.
