The Beginning Of Last Words Poem by Sofia Papadimitri

The Beginning Of Last Words

You drag back visions
Covered in seductive veils
Layers of invisible tulle
A cloak over your creeping tail

A vulture ogles famished
I once stirred in that pot
Now salt has covered all wounds
Now my body floats

Thief, addicted to crave
Your bony fingers dipped in my thoughts
Mashing a deemed dream
In a ball of words

I saw my muse fade
Tangled in those last words
Drowned in spilled ink
“Of course”…

Despite your naked moment
Your reluctant disguise
The aching, insuperable fall
Deceit bears only lies

Oh, let me lie on this earth
Between heaven and hell
Cover me with dirt
This is where I’ll dwell

Lay me on velvety ground
Caress me to my core
Let darkness be my relief
For you don’t enlighten me
No more…
