The Birth of Tomorrow
Tomorrow is born within our dreams,
But is nothing until you awake
Some may like to languish in slumber
When their future may then be at stake
A refreshing time for our grey cells
Can bring much fresh vigour and spark
Leaving behind old aches and anguish
We emerge to the bright song of the lark
And whether we strive just for our own ends
Or begin a new task that helps all
The knowledge we share with each other
Can bring smiles to the short and the tall
For all notions we bring to the future
Be they moments in time we will forget
Have some impact on many another
Some subtle while others upset
The part that we play in this world can
Be seen even after we are long gone
Our tombstones may leave some clues
Our words may live on in a song
Part freely with thoughts you have mustered
While sleeping in some finer plane
Your influence can seem to be fragile
Though it really does count all the same
