The Bridegroom Poem by Spock the Vegan

The Bridegroom

Rating: 5.0

The Bridegroom came, but the door was shut.
There were ten, but only five were let in.
I try to be good, but I'm in a rut.
How do I change - where do I begin?

At the sound of the trump he will come.
One will be taken - one will be left.
Good people will be taken, not scum.
The ones not prepared will be bereft.

Why in the world do I need church?
It only reminds me of my sins.
Shall I study the scriptures, do research?
Yes the one who is prepared is the one who wins.

But it's too late to change -
I can't be forgiven.
He forgives all - it's strange,
But all you need is contrition.

Shall I study the scriptures, do research? Yes the one who is prepared is the one who wins. Great poem reflecting a philosophy of life and the need for our being righteous or religious. Thanks.

Thanks Rajnish. Too many people today are agnostic or atheist. It's not their fault, just too bad.
