The Cheat Poem by poppy miller

The Cheat

Rating: 2.5

He walked the shadowed streets of double-dealing
Ignored the loyal heart which bore such feeling
Laughed at every teadrop ever fell
Lied through teeth and touched the soul of hell.
Those arms of need and want he clipped in flight
Let true love fade into the haggard night
Acts of love, forgiveness he did deprecate
And from his past misgivings sealed his fate.
For the heart that once loved him now has turned to stone
And the one that beats in him is left to bleed alone.

If you succeed in cheating someone,
Don't think that the person is a fool.
Realize that the person trusted you much
More than you deserve.
