The Chinese Work Poem by Raymond Farrell

The Chinese Work

The Chinese work
Work, work, work
Blank faced
They ask no questions
Few claim a God
So this life
Is all they acknowledge
Therefore, they are Hell bent
On getting all they can Now
The rivers I walk by in Hangzhou
Smell like open sewers sometimes
On certain days the polluted air
Plays havoc with my breathing
But the Chinese continue
To work, work work
As their dreams are being fulfilled
They are creating their own nightmare
Of ecological death and destruction
This they are exporting
Via the jet streams
Along with the other
Low quality items
They have been manufacturing
Talk to them
And they will tell you
We are a developing nation
We therefore have carbon credits
But if you argue
Carbon credits or not
The pollution is being caused
By your factories
So bent on production and profit
Not taking time to upgrade
Install proper stacks etc
They will accuse you of racism
Or trying to hold back others
Prevent the Chinese from fulfilling their destiny
The exchange flounders hopelessly
Flipping and flopping
Like a fish out of water
No appeal to logic
Can persuade those who think
They are destined to rule the world
The discussion fades away
In the polluted air
Ending in polite silence.

You really nailed this, Ray...Dead SPOT-ON....dynasty style...LOL! ! This system though heartless, greedy and somewhat primitive...is to be feared as their silence, and polarization from a humane societal agenda...is to be is the volcano that guises itself as dormant...Excellent work, my friend, as always ~FjR-'16~

You are right Frank. The longer I live in China the more I realize the gov is now going in the wrong direction. The new Chairman loves a book written by a former army office in which the officer states the Chinese have a cultural superior gene and should therefore rule the world. It is worthwhile to point out that during the Cultural Revolution - some engaged in cannabalism. They have acknowledged they have hoodwinked American industry into setting up in China and have then stolen or reverse engineered other countries technology. The greed of American and other multinationals will lead to their downfall and I fear we are all going to go down the drain with them. Hillary has taken Chinese money so she is bought and paid for by them so you can see where things are headed.
