The Circle Of Seasons Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

The Circle Of Seasons

Rating: 5.0

The garden looks bare,
It's in rest for a while,
I look back at the seasons,
With joy and a smile.
Back in the spring,
As it awoke from its sleep,
The cute little crocus,
From the soil it did peep,
It's fine pastel shade,
On show as it grew,
Gracing the border,
With its wonderful hue.
Joined by the daffodils,
Pleasant and bright,
A dazzling yellow,
Standing proud in daylight.
The garden back then,
Came to life neath blue sky's,
Where birds gathered twigs,
For their nests up high.
Then summer arrived,
With an almighty dash,
Of beautiful colours,
A bright mix and match,
Of wonderful flowers,
Vibrant in bloom,
A perfect scene,
On a hot afternoon.
Where sunflowers worshipped,
The lovely warm rays,
Of the bright glowing sun,
Throughout the days.
Butterflies drawn,
To the sweet perfume,
Of the wonderful roses,
Well into full bloom.
As autumn arrived,
The leaves on the trees,
Fell to the ground,
Scattering in the autumn breeze.
Soon to be winter,
The hedgehog he waits,
For his chance to rest,
As he hibernates.
Holly and berries,
Will fill up the trees,
Snow will arrive,
When our fingers will freeze!
The circle of seasons,
Revolving once more,
My love of nature,
Lies outside my door.

Another lovely nature poem Jayne. I don't know how I can write a similar poem about my garden as I grew veg. Hard to get romantic over potatoes, cabbage, carrots, peas and tomatoes. I still have to get mine ready for winter, it's been too wet so far. A good 5*
