The Colour Of Pearl Poem by David Wood

The Colour Of Pearl

Rating: 5.0

Fear is a burning flame that
Burns all hope. The spark
That ignites that flame comes
Out of evil hearts.

Keeping the hand from fire is
The only way not to get burnt,
Running away from fear is like
Moving the hand away from fire.

Not all liquid quenches fire.
Not all food offered should be
Eaten. People fleeing persecution
Pay the highest price for bad food.

They end up washed up on foreign
Shores the colour of pearl. They
Paid the highest price, and their
Surviving loved ones live with that

Pain for ever. Left tormented for
All their days. Nobody wants them,
Nobody cares and Mankind fails again
It's humanity.
