The Coming Of Dreams' Night Poem by Tim Vallie

The Coming Of Dreams' Night

My sanity is fading as time slowly slips away
Every thought evades me as night overtakes the day
The darkness now is seeping into the corners of my mind
It overwhelms my vision, in the darkness I am blind
Before me worlds awaken, dreamscapes suddenly unveil
New visions come before me, some are vivid some are pale
The real unreality of the worlds that we create
Holds the key the immortality, and reveals to us our fate
This is why our dreams escape from us with the brutal light of day
For the taste of that forbidden fruit, this the steepest price we pay
Our dreams hold hidden knowledge, the things we should not know
They shows things that may be, the fruit of seeds we've yet to sew
They open doors and windows into things that cannot be
Unique worlds inside of our minds, and in them we are free
But the dreams fade ever so fast with the coming of the dawn
As we open dreaming eyes we find that quickly they are gone
Faded from our consciousness, just out of our minds sight
Until we fade in darkness with the coming of dreams' night.
