I can hear
The ticking of
The Clock
I count down
Every second
Tick-one. Tick-two.
The one class
Of the day
We don’t have together
I can’t wait
To be with you
It’s antagonizing
Once I hear the bell ring
Its like a thousand pounds
Have been lifted off my shoulders
I walk quickly
Out of
The classroom
I see you standing there
Your dark eyes lurking
They meet mine
My heart skips a beat
Then I can hear my pulse
Like humming bird wings
I feel the edges
Of my lips lift
Into a warm smile
You mirror my expression
As you grab my hand
And we walk to class
Together
And I can’t help
But think
Of how perfect you are.
