The Dance Poem by Olivia Estampador

The Dance

He kissed her cheek and held her hand
Caught her heart with just a dance.
Under the starlit night-
Two souls entwined by time.

I saw them dancing
In the road they take
While the leaves are falling
I watched them fail.

And I know they tried
And how hard she cried.
Cause I watched when he said goodbye
When she got only memories to go by.

I looked away...
It was just my coward's way
To deny what she'd become
An icy queen to hide the pain.

Now I wonder where I've been.
Inside this shell I'm living in.
After all this time-where was I?
Inside this icy queen, I cried.
