The Dawn Of My Village Poem by Abdul Sattar

The Dawn Of My Village

I watched the flowing water of the Indus
Flowing like pearls in a pond
I saw the sun glowing
Like a golden plate
Hanging in the sky
I walked around the fields
The peanuts harvesters were digging
The peanuts from the soil
I saw the trees waving
And talking
I saw nightingale with it's shiny feathers
When it was singing to the dawn
I sat by the stream
To take a photograph
Of the sheep that stayed here for night
I saw the sheepherders taking their breakfast
With the milky tea and frozen bread
I saw my self in the horizon
As I thought.
