The Day (For Nana Carol Monroy) Poem by Priscilla Monroy

The Day (For Nana Carol Monroy)

The Day was warm and sunny
The Sun was Shining upon your face
You are playing with your three sons
You are flawless and move with such grace
The Day was hot and sunny
We were playing in the water
All of us your granchildren
And your sons who are now fathers
The Day was cool and breezy
The wind was blowing through your
hair
You tire easy now
So you sit and watch from a chair
You are smiling though
cause you now have great grand kids
that are there
The Days grow cold and cloudy
Your pain is getting hard to hide
You want to visit with your family
before its time to go inside
Then the clouds open
And the sun shines upon your face
You slip into a dream
of that warm and sunny place
Where you can dance run and sing
And move again with such grace
We understand you couldn't follow
You had to go and rest
We will miss you dearly though
You were one of a kind the BEST.
