The Denial Poem by SUSHANA VITTALDEV

The Denial

Rating: 5.0

Dancing in the dark, I think of you again.
I think of you lying in my arms against my breast!
Holding your tiny hands,
Brushing my lips to your cheeks,
Oh! Your eyes!
Behold me in their bright divine shine!
The colour of eternity and happiness glistening high!
Closing my eyes, I feel rudely woken up!
Woken up by lights unerring and bright!
I then realise you are but a child’s TOY!
With little pink nose and bright blue eyes!
I hear you cry and I reach out to you in Pain,
Only to find you, flying away!
I decide to roll over and deny the real!
And close my eyes to find you again!
