The Divine Dancer Poem by Dr. Madan Gandhi

The Divine Dancer

Swinging in a trance
as if held in arms of an invisible lover
I dance and dance
round my own axis
in tune with the earth’s motion

The whole sky, the stars, the universe
around me whirl
their each step choreographed
by the Divine dancer
once for all at the beginning of time

Spellbound I move faster and faster
to keep pace with the constellation
going deeper and deeper in contemplation
in a state of choiceless awareness
of the movement of each one of the whirling star

In the moment become eternal
zeroed all gravity and gravitation
emptiness fills my every core
ecstasy electrifies my every pore.
