The Dying Of A Day Poem by William McGehee

The Dying Of A Day

A faint impression stayed
A memory fell away
The mood, I felt, had changed
Like the dying of a day.

A song I heard had stopped
A melody lost its sway
The breath, I felt had, dropped
Like the dying of a day.

A friend that might have been
A smile that can never stay
The chance, I felt, had past
Like the dying of a day…
Like the dying of a day.
