The Earliest Decimation
from the earliest decimation
spat forth narcissistic venom
in arrogance's name
the descendants of bloodshed
became as angels
and the impurities that hid
in diamond chromosome vaults
our sinners and adulterers
original sin spawned
from ancient blood debts
corruption always
begets corruption
how far shall we allow
our souls to be drug through mud
and wallow in misery's mire?
