We stood on that cliff
And happy we were
Until that day came
When you dove off the edge.
I grabbed your arm
As you fell from my sight
While ignoring your wishes
For me to let you fall.
You came to your senses
And I pulled you to safety,
We were happy once more
But then you dove again.
I saved you a second time,
You jumped off a third,
The process repeated
Save the time I was off guard.
You dove off the edge
When my back was turned
And just like you wanted,
I realized too late.
My eyes lied, I hoped
As I ran to the edge
But there you were
Plummeting to the ground.
Alone there I stood
With one thought in my head:
Be alone here forever
Or together off the edge…
