The Effects Poem by Phil Soar

The Effects

I bought some caustic soda
To disinfect my drains
The virus maybe hides down there
Amongst the other stains
It may be hanging in the air
Nobody really knows
And if we ever leave our homes
It might get on our clothes
It might invade our toilet bowls
And catch us number two-ing
It's everywhere we look right now
We don't know what it's doing
But one day we will maybe laugh
At what it made us do
Until that day arrives, we all
Should stay still a while or two
