The End Poem by Christina Ramirez

The End

If the end of the world came today
I wouldn't care anyway
As long as I'm holding your hand

If the world split in two and the sky was no longer blue
All the love disappeared and I feared that your love would never reappear
I would know you still loved me
Because our love is a guarantee.

If the world stopped spinning
We'd still have a new beginning

If the world collided with the mooon
I'd still think of that afternoon when I said, 'I love you.'

If the end of the world came today,
I wouldn't care anyway
As long as I'm holding your hand

If the sun fails
And darkness prevails
And there's nothing here but you and me
No mountains, no sky, no seas
Would you still love me?
Or would you set me free?

What if the world fell from it's place?
Would you cling to me or let me fall into space?

If I came one with the earth
Would our love still be of worth?

If the world was never made
Then I'd wish and I'd pray that a love such as yours would find it's way to my heart

If the end of the world ended today
I wouldn't care anyway
As long as I'm holding your hand.
