The End Of A Dream Poem by Michael WheelerWyatt

The End Of A Dream

Miles and miles of shimmering sea
The only company the dolphins have - is me
I am not sad - I guess now I am free
To do want I want - to be me

The voice over the microphone wakes me from my dream
The fresh wind whips through the palm trees
The light is bright as it warms my skin
My last thoughts are here - the end of a dream

The end of a dream

Miles and miles until cups of tea
Where the only talk is of me, me, me
I am so sad, I guess it had to be
Inside my soul, ill always be free

The end of a dream

I realise now that it is how you feel that matters
As the warming sun causes the clouds to scatter
I wont let it beat me - I wont let it in
That will be my last thought – as I end my dream
