The Favorite Bard Poem by William Ross Wallace

The Favorite Bard

“Who is my favorite bard?” you ask—
Well, let me think !—there’s Milton—Spenser—and
Dear Shakspeare—Bryant-—Elliott-—Street—
And—how they start like stars on every hand!
“My favorite bard ? “—I cannot tefl,
For each true bard I love so well—
Indeed my heart is like the liberal sea,
When Dian lifts aloft her silver crest,
Mirroring all the choiring stars alike
In the deep love Gf its impartial breast.
