The Final Battle Poem by David Wood

The Final Battle

Rating: 5.0

Sadness now follows me
Like a shadow I cannot
Shake off

The final battle comes
That I must face alone

She is beginning to tell me
What I must do

It is a hard choice

We've had so many happy years
And I hope she still remembers
Halcyon

Days together

But the last battle swiftly
Approaches
And she will understand
And knows what I have to do

Green fields of eternity now
Beckons until we meet again
