The fire of summer
rekindles a long lost terror
in the hearts of men like me

of how the world has come to
being a place,
as it is.

of how the poor still strives
and the rich still arrive
in beautiful strides
upon the graves of humanity.

and how once
the beauty of this land
has passed into sorrowful existence.

of how men crave
materialistic wealth
and how god's love has
gone far away from this land.

the fire of summer still burns bright
in the steps of life
as people walk and plunder
this beautiful earth of mine.
