The First Day I Meet You Poem by Vasiliki Dolas

The First Day I Meet You

the day we first met in my mind i still see
you sitting in the lunch room looking for some company
i alone by myself sat down with you that day
neither of us knowing what to really say
you think it doesnt hurt me to see us
back to that looking to my left and right to see there is no you
i thought life was worth living for a moment in time
but the life i wanted could never be mine
threw the years i see its wonderful fate
a fate of laughs greatness and fun
we have only one life to live and this is the one
in a friendship were free to express
parts of ourselves nobody else knows
but the thing that sustabins it and sets it apart
is not something spoken its a bond of the heart
true friends are rare in a lifetime 2 or maybe 3
im so glad it happend between you and me.
