The First Time I Knew Poem by Walter C. Edwards

The First Time I Knew

The first time I knew,
was on a summers day,
long since past,
laying out on the sands,
where the sun was warm,
just as warm as your heart,
was to mine,
we laugh, held hands and caressed,
that day of fire works,
in the sky,
on our very long drive,
my smiles where never ending,
way to much,
and your eyes shined,
way to much,
the day we fell in love.
