The Forgotten Land [the Desert] Poem by alan brown

The Forgotten Land [the Desert]

The Sun shone with eager hast
upon the desert.
As cloud's bellowed
across the Sun burnt land.
Bringing hope
to all that lay below.

Suddenly and without warning
a cloud burst.
Sending droplets of water
cascading down to the waiting throng.

Joy was upon the earth as seed's burst
bringing life to the golden sand.
Flowers raised there heads
jollily swaying in the temped breeze.
Insects raised in flight
as the rain replenished
the forgotten land.

The color's of a rainbow
stretched as far as the eye could see.
In a spectacular show
Bringing life
as they lived their lives in hast.

The cloud burst gave life to the land
for only a moment of time
As the Sun regained its strength
and dried the golden sand
As calm and sincerity settled
once again upon the forgotten land.

Your poem makes me want to be in a desert after a rain to experience the bloom. Good write. A 10.
