I used to pick flowers
smile
believe the world was only good
I've grown into a broken shell of a girl
slammed
bruised
on the floor
barely breathing
I can't help but hate what I am
I deserve every strike I absorb
precise slice I make
I don't know when i began to ffall
But I know there is no way to get back
to the girl that picked flowers
I love it that you just aren't that little smiley girl anymore, there are tons of them out there and they're all boring. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Pain will consume most of your energy, yes, but you'll be stronger when you've past them and you'll look at them and at yourself and I'll be proud not even knowing where you are or who you are, for that matter. Go ahead and experience the world the way it is. and I'm not saying go out there and do drugs and the whole idiotic things most kids say, I'm saying don't be ashamed to find who you are and to then be who you are. Jennifer, I read your poem I don't need a god and also this poem. Maybe you can see that you do need a real God, that will help you when in need. Try to read my God Sent His Son and see exactly what He did for you over two thousand years ago. You won't ever get any where without Him. Your friend Lynn.
true beauty lies with in the broken beaten body of someone whos been through lifes pains, someone who God is trying to bring to him to hold. A beautiful woman, is a broken one, someone you can hold and remind of God's love and someone who truly appreciates every second of it
This is a really sad poem. I hope that one day, you might be the girl who picked flowers.

Wonderful poem. Innocent childhood dreams and thoughts often shattered too early. We should not be childish, but the child like thoughts in us are worth a lot throughout our lives. The world seems harsh at times. Lots and lots of evil around. The only reasonable approach is kindness. The kinder we become, the more kindness we will meet and believe me, there is a huge amount of it in this world. Reading books on wisdom and personal development may seem at 17 really moronic, but they DO help if you read them with an open and critical mind.
