Without love for the sorrowing and the suffering
we are running after our passions and desires
just chasing mirages upon the desert of time
dreaming in the dark dreary night of the spirit
Forgetful of the nearness and inevitability of death
we are hourly heading towards our dissolution
yet how ironical we continue to cling to the flesh
as if it were permanent and going to last for all time
The dread of death and the horrors of the grave
cloud our happiest hours as we lock ourselves
in the chilling shadow in a self-wrought cave
selfishness following us like a remorseless specter.
Must we wake up from spiritual slumber to walk by love
to cross the desert sands of slippery waves of desires
till one eternal Truth dawns wherein like shadows before us
all the dreaming and delusion disappear along with all despair.
In a flash we realize there is but one Great Law of Love
this Unity, this one unifying principle, the basis of all diversity,
the one Universal Reality, the key to enter into the Infinite,
in harmony and peace becoming one with the Truth Eternal.
