The Island Of Your Smile
Oh, indeed it'd easier to abdicate
And walk out into exile in a cove of silence
Than to raise a bridge of words
And steal over the ocean of your indifference.
But how long will I derive comfort
In warmest solitude, from my music,
My books, my thoughts and reveries
Before the ghost of you creeps in unbeckoned?
Will another bridge of words then
Bring me, penitent, to walk across
The ocean of your indifference again?
Will I still find it there, the island of your smile?
leave it to an architect to sneak in the word cove! ! ! i might use into a cove, but i'm me and you is you! ! hee-hee. favorite phrase: ocean of your indifference.** ** [[in my four marriages, i may have sailed a few of those! ]] (to be continued) ..............

Thanks Chinedu. An attempt to push the use of metaphors to the very limit where, perhaps, it begins to backfire a bit! Treading on thin ice there!
