Its not by works that life is won
Its not the deeds we do
But through our faith in Christ God’s Son
Salvation may pursue
Through every dropp of Jesus’ blood
Through suffering and pain
Through serving God the way we should
Are sinners bornagain
Once light has dawned within the soul
Within the bowels of shame
The sinner’s knee to make him whole
Must bow to Jesus’ name
The name above all other names
Can heal the flesh and save
Can keep us from eternal flames
And free us from the grave
Obedience; is to life the key
To He who wears the crown
Yet self must learn to bend the knee
And thrones must tumble down
When at Christ’s feet our spirits kneel
When heart and soul are free
Then Jesus’ pain we’ll learn to feel
And eyes the truth will see
A life well spent in Jesus’ hand
Will wisdom one day prove
All else are houses built on sand
That time and tide will move
In Christ true love is made complete
With righteousness and grace
In Him who’ll suffer no defeat
Will see The Father’s face
