The Lane Of Memories Poem by Elizabeth Turner

The Lane Of Memories

I looked down at my feet,
I heard the pounding upon the blacktop,
a gassy ball of fire beating on my back.

I felt alone,
at peace.

But yet a good feeling was emerging from my mind
and I was thinking to myself
that when you are lonesome
many thoughts can gather and form knowledge.

And there I was, the blacktop life the heart beat of life.
The sun as life's light.
My past in mind,
my future ahead of me.
Alone. Just me to gather my thoughts.
