The Last Meeting Poem by Neha Kaushik

The Last Meeting

With a restless past week
& uneasiness all around.
The day is finally here
within me I could here a mournful sound.

The day that will put an end
to all my desires & dreams.
While stepping up the stairs
I was a devastated person it seemed.

Your memories started to overpower me
& so many thoughts crossed my mind.
I could sense your presence everywhere
flashes of moments I could see in my eyes.

At last, I reached the final place
calming myself down.
Settling my thoughts &
suddenly you appeared amongst the crowd.

With all my power
I tried to maintain my cool.
I wish science would someday
invent a mind stabilizing tool.

With your each step moving towards me
my heart beat was loosing its count.
An upsetting wave running down my body
in my brain, whirlpools of thoughts were swirling round.

We met, you said & even I did
but nothing I can recall.
All I know is that with
your each word I was ready to fall.

My heart was sinking
my patience was dying.
A sense of insecurity surrounded me
still to become normal, hard I was trying.

My love for you
why you're not able to see.
Today I wanted to burst out
with all that I had inside me.

To tell you how difficult
it would be without you.
How meaningless everything
would be without you.

Still I sealed my mouth
& went away with my feelings.
Knowing you won't be there anymore,
& that was our last dealing.

I came back & cried
cried till I was flat on ground.
But you didn't come
to see me or even heard my sound.

My heart goes out to you, have been there, know what you mean......Powerful expression of love, neglected unfortunately.
