The lieutenant has turned in his resignation
He will not serve under such an evil regime
After being a witness of atrocities
Caused by the president's team
Severing all connections to the military junta
At a time where conditions begun to worsen
He burnt his uniform and guns
Walking away a changed person
Not fearful of the president's retaliation
After helping him to take millions into captivity
In his regrets, he said:
Never again will I participate in this demonic activity
No longer willing to be a partaker
In the affairs of a bloody nation
Where there are rivers of blood
Prompting his resignation
Tortuous pain is seen in his eyes
Not understanding man's inhumanity to man
In a land governed by weapons,
The road to death is the game plan
The lieutenant has resigned
A life to re-assign
He walks down a new line
The lieutenant has resigned
In his grief
He turned a new leaf
The lieutenant has resigned
He has left an evil regime
In pursuance of a righteous dream
The lieutenant has resigned
He prays to be forgiven
His name to be written in the book of the living
