The Life Poem by Ini Mendy

The Life

Exquisite laxity
Forbid my departure
Protest my valediction
Don't let me journey off
I am not assure of what awaits my arrival
Even this path, I envisage not
I am enthralled in this morbid fear
Yes! My palpable agitation
Can you not touch this trepidation?

Stretch thy hands and touch me
Let thy fingers struck the strings of my soul
For my ego has jerichoed my deep yearnings
Play thy sweet and harmonious melody
Let this wall fall
Let the nakedness of my heart be seen
Look beyond its crimsonness
Wash me whole again even with thy spittle
Can I live again just like Hezekiah?
