The Light Cast On An Abstract Self Pity Poem by Jon Hark

The Light Cast On An Abstract Self Pity

You’re disgusted of the filth that is me, I know
I’ll take my heart right out of me
The pain will never show

I cover my eyes to block all light, to halt its wicked sting
I hate the shine of such a might
such a horrible thing

Light

It shows the hidden that should never be reviled
Things enclosed by the beauty of dark
Things that should be concealed

Lies that break your heart when seen
could be justified in the grace that is internal black
An everlasting obscenity

They have broken me down
Into a thing you hate, My life’s become meaningless
If my love for you isn’t aloud

I hate myself just because I’m me
Isn’t that why you hate me?
Until I’ve been shown that truth, my only company
is my own self pity
