The Light Inside: I.M. Helen Martins - For Marí Mocke Poem by Charl JF Cilliers

The Light Inside: I.M. Helen Martins - For Marí Mocke

Rating: 5.0

A single candle flame
beside the bed to keep
out the dark that calls your name
and will not let you sleep.

Knocking at the door each night
in the shaken house among
images hidden from sight.
Life tilts on the tip of your tongue.

All the while hovering, there
is a voice you constantly hear:

Dear child, do not despair,
your light within, through blurred prisms of tears,
is destined to shine everywhere.
