The Light Of A Thousand Diamonds Poem by Ray Andrews

The Light Of A Thousand Diamonds

How could I have walked right past the
light of a thousand diamonds? I always
missed it, blinded by my own vision of where
life should flow. I wanted no ripples, no fear
and made harsh demands on all those
around me-let me move my way.
But fear and narrowness backed me into
a corner where I had to yield and surrender.
When I completely yielded to Spirit's power,
I could see an enormity of love and healing
that had eluded me. The jewels of love
revealed a multitude of radiant facets known
only to those who also surrender and seek
the treasure. It's there and I am there through
willingness. I missed it because I had closed
the eyes of my heart in order to protect myself.
Paradoxically, opening my eyes protected me and
gave me joy.
