The Lion's Heart Poem by Long Tooth

The Lion's Heart

Rating: 5.0

Love's knelt before Lion from earliest times,
Yes, your love and my love and all of our rhymes,
For Love has no legs like a child on a swing,
Needs faith of a Lion to hear itself sing.

Unique as twin stars in an orbital dance,
Yet, is there an outcome left solely to chance?
Could accidents happen? Just look I found you,
And sparks are still flying though our love's not new.

Love's power is awesome but Justice is King
And folks who can't see this don't know anything,
For love to be viable always needs two,
The minimum bond would be Lion and you.

Though Justice will always be 'lead' Lion's part,
True love, I've discovered, is gift from His heart.

Although a true Shakespearian sonnet is separated into three quatrains and a couplet, with the rhyme pattern abab, cdcd, efef, gg, and your sonnet is seven couplets together, with the rhyme pattern aabbccddbbddee, nevertheless it is very pleasing. The rhythm and the rhymes are very good. I enjoyed reading it very much. Thank you for sharing it here on Poem Hunter.
