The Loner Poem by Paul Warren

The Loner

Rating: 4.0

The world kept pushing him on and on
He didn't turn any corners just straight along
It wasn't that he was searching for anything
Not even his own song to sing

The sense he was a loner permeated his soul
And all he could think of is to remain in control
Being a loner helped disguise it well
So most people could not at all tell

Until he met her on that day
When she saw through him right away
Now he spends his days in sheer concentration
Trying to hide it from her and her anticipation.
