The Mail Man Poem by Phil Soar

The Mail Man

He got in touch with me today
The mailman hadn't much to say
He knocked my door and ran away
And left my world in disarray

I'd waited in for a welcome note
One that my dear wife had wrote
She was out at sea, in a rowing boat
I hoped that she was still afloat

But the mailman called, then ran away
So I'll not get my note today
