The March. Poem by Charles M Moore

The March.

Rating: 5.0

Mother can you hear the drums
the pipes are calling for your son
and flags are waving in the sun
the march to war has just begun

Father can you hear the bell
the deathly sound and road to hell
where all the other brothers fell
the march of victory.

I had to do a double take, thinking I missed a rhyme. But I see that the discordant end note is meant to shock with this context. Well done. -chuck
