The Mechanic Poem by Timmy Curran

The Mechanic

I´ve been two years
by his side, still can´t
tell you exactly
what he does
I see he deals
with things on
a level quite extreme
Never openly loving
but more delicate
than mean
He forgives, he forgives
If a life must be taken
he does it without pleasure
If someone steals
he removes a hand
Dare to defy him?
I´ve seen the brave
whose knees meet the sand
Two years, I´ve been
at his side
I don´t know why,
he needs no guard
Perhaps he is lonely
in search of his son
needing the love, only
found in human touch
But always, always
he forgives, never beaten
never old, a remorsless face
but there is always
forgivness, after the malice
