The Mother Langauge Poem by Palitha Ranatunge

The Mother Langauge

I humbly say bowing down my head,
I never do believe in
Such called a mother language,
But, I have been taught languages
Used by my mother as well as
My Father and others at home.

I firmly say that one of them
Will not be my mother language.

The beleif in my religion is the same
I am faithful to one religion
Because it was the faith
Of my mother and father,
And I have been tamed to believe it
I was prohibited any questioning,

There will be a day, when
The entire human population
Will speak one language.

The entire human population
Will believe one religion.

How beautiful and harmonious

Every mother will talk to her
New born child, only one language
Whatever it is, but obviously not
English, German, French, Spanish,
Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, or Swahili

May be a kind of Esperanto...

Then there will be an eternal
Peace within this world
Even among geographically
Divided human races,

Then ultimatum of this unity
Will conquer the mighty
Universe, marching across it
Finding more glory and victory for
The future of our loving children.
