The Myna's Wisdom Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

The Myna's Wisdom

I look through the kitchen window
It is raining all the way
the red car gets natural wash
water drops pouring over the back glass
a myna bird attempts to climb the glass
but slips as there is no friction
again it tries to climb
but falters again..
it continues to climb
but continues to fall back
My observation:
Is the bird enjoying?
what is in its mind?
its persistence amazes me
stop not till the goal is reached
endowed with whatever little wisdom
the bird is my teacher
the wisdom you bestowed upon
never be tired of failures
try, try and enjoy life
the bird does not seem to have any tension
then why are we tensed?
and getting fatigue?
