The Natural & Spiritual Poem by Matshona Dhliwayo

The Natural & Spiritual

"The natural eyes see much,
but the spiritual eyes see more.
The natural ears hear much,
but the spiritual ears hear more.
The natural hands carry much,
but the spiritual hands carry more.
The natural feet travel much,
but the spiritual feet travel more.
The natural mind understands much,
but the spiritual mind understands more.
The natural heart experiences much,
but the spiritual heart experiences more.
The natural life matters much,
but the spiritual life matters more.

When you close your eyes,
your spiritual eyes still see.
When you close your ears,
your spiritual ears still hear.
When you close your mouth,
your spiritual tongue still speaks.
When you close your hands,
your spiritual arms still give."
